Pingu’s English and British Embassy Laos announce new international education partnership for English language Training

Latest News

Parents will soon be able to enrol their children into the globally popular Pingu’s English language training system from the UK, thanks to a new international education partnership announced today.

Ms Ketsavanh Panyathip, a business woman and leading entrepreneur in the Laos market with experience in managing international early years programs, has today been announced as the new Pingu’s English Master Licensee for Laos.

This exclusive international partnership will see the first branded Pingu’s English school open in Vientiane this summer, offering the globally popular Pingu’s English pre-school English language training program to Vientiane parents, before developing a nationwide presence across the country.

Pingu’s English is the Linguaphone Group’s early years brand for children of 3 – 8+ years, based on the world-famous and much-loved character, Pingu. Their popular pre-school English language training and kindergarten programs are already transforming the learning outcomes of children in over twenty countries worldwide.

This partnership was made possible thanks to an introduction by Mr Hugh Evans, HM British Ambassador to Laos who took time to congratulate Ms Ketsavanh and her partner, Mr Hatsavanh Haemany on their appointment at their Vientiane campus today.

Mr Hugh Evans, HM British Ambassador to Laos said:

“I am thrilled that the Linguaphone Group will be establishing their Pingu’s English language program in Laos later this year, in partnership with Panyathip Group. Pingu’s English already has an internationally renowned reputation and the Panyathip Group has been promoting British education in Laos for several years.

“Promoting the UK as a key educational partner for the Lao PDR has been a key priority for my embassy since it was re-established in 2012. The arrival of the Pingu’s English program in Laos is a further significant step forward in fulfilling this ambition”.

Ms Ketsavanh Panyathip, Director of Pingu’s English School Laos said:

“On behalf of my partners and I, we are excited and humbled to not only be launching the first Pingu’s English in Laos, but to also be their exclusive Master Licensee for the whole of the country. And though we are eagerly looking forward to Pingu’s English flourishing in our market, we would not be here if it were not for his excellency Ambassador Hugh Evans, and Ms Bay Panyathip, founder and board member of Panyathip – The British International School in Laos, for connecting us to the Linguaphone Group. We would also like to thank to the team at Linguaphone Group for approaching us with such a great opportunity and venture.

“As future leaders, we aim to bring up Lao children with kind hearts, big dreams and creative wisdom. We believe there is nothing that compares to Pingu’s English in Laos, which will provide effective English language training for young children in a safe, engaging and entertaining environment, as well as conforming to all the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Sports in Lao PDR.

“Pingu’s English is absolutely the right fit for us and our ambitions for the market. In the years ahead, we also plan to offer Pingu’s English’s respected full-time international kindergarten curriculum to the market, as well as open more Pingu’s English Schools across Laos”.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr Derek Price, Chief Executive Officer with the Linguaphone Group said:

“As a strong, emerging market in South-East Asia, appointing a strong, established Pingu’s English partner for Laos was very important to the Linguaphone Group’s ongoing expansion plans across the ASEAN region. Our new partner for Laos will join a growing presence in ASEAN delivering our popular pre-school kindergarten and English language training program in Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.

“We are delighted to welcome Panyathip Group to the global Pingu’s English Master Licensee team. We are excited by their plans to make Pingu’s English a nationwide name in Laos, and look forward to supporting them unequivocally in the months and years ahead”

Testimonials

We at the British Chamber of Commerce worked with Linguaphone Group to find them a new in-market partner for the Korean market. Throughout the engagement we had with Linguaphone Group, we found them to be passionate about education, supremely professional in their approach to business and both responsive and personable in their interactions with ourselves and Korean partners. Korean investors were attracted to the best-in-class program which Linguaphone Group offers, the strong reputation of the company and the heritage with which it is associated. These are qualities that resonate globally.

Our Experience with Pingu’s English has been profitable and positive from the first year. We relied on their professionalism and heritage, their staff is always prompt to assist with the latest trends and ideas on the market. We were looking for a brand who can guarantee us quality and a solid method but at the same time would leave us the freedom and flexibility in order to succeed in our challenging and competitive market like the Italian one. We built Pingu’s English project in Italy by mixing their huge international experience in the English training with our knowledge of the Italian market. All this enabled us to do the right decision for our winning investment. Today we have over 40 Pingu’s English centres and thousands of happy children learning English.

I knew about Pingu’s English School through a friend. After research about the school, I decided to enroll my daughter and it was one of the best things I could do to her. She loves studying at Pingu’s English and she cannot wait to the day of the class. I also love Pingu's English School, because there she learns by playing and I can see her progress day by day.

Regarding the teaching method they use a figurative storytelling way of starting the lesson,  trying hard to involve the child and make the them curious about the situation. Tom is very happy to go to Pingu’s English because he perceives the School as a playful moment and not just as a learning moment while at the same time he is learning a new language
